Who is Reid's Heritage Homes?

Reid’s Heritage Homes is one of Ontario’s leading builders who has partnered with the DiLoreto and Long real estate team for a number of projects. For over 30 years, they have been developing homes ranging from single detached homes, condos, and bungalow townhomes, to custom estates and active adult communities. Their emphasis on values and tradition has established them as an award-winning developer, securing them hundreds of awards. Recently, the Ontario Home Builders’ Association awarded them the Ontario Home Builder of the Year Award.

Reid’s history of homebuilding goes back to 1947 when brothers Melville, George and Albert Reid, along with their friend Bill Lang started out building wartime bungalows. The company continues to be family owned and operated to this day, providing customers with reliable and trustworthy service.

Future of Sustainability

Their main focus is a commitment to a sustainable future. One innovative program undertaken to accomplish this mission is the so called “Net Zero program.” A net zero home is one that generates as much energy as it uses. This type of efficiency can be achieved through combining a variety of different tactics. For starters, all appliances throughout the home must have high efficiency ratings and the roof must be able to accommodate solar panels linked to the electrical system. With the cost of solar powered systems continually dropping, this is only becoming a more and more economically viable option.

After partnering with the University of Guelph, Reid’s has built five net zero homes in the Guelph area as part of a project to show that efficient homes can be built in today's construction environment.

Take Advantage of Referral Programs

Reid’s offers a variety of referral programs including the friends & family program, second time buyer program, and realtor referral program. For instance, in the second time buyer program you will receive $1000 off the purchase of your next new build home. Alternatively, in the friends & family program you and your family can both receive $500 as long as they close their new home within 1 year of the visit. Furthermore, there is no limit on the amount of referrals you can give!

Special New Projects

They have numerous divisions in well-planned communities in northern and Southwestern Ontario, the Bruce region and Collingwood. A prime, recent project is currently in it’s final stages of development. These bungalow and two-storey townhomes in the heart of Collingwood are perfect for daily outdoor enthusiasts, occasional weekenders or leisure seeking retirees. In addition, a mid rise condo community in the vibrant east end of Guelph will soon be complete. The grange hill point project will offer harmonious living with close proximity to downtown guelph and highway 401. To find out more about this stunning new complex contact DiLoreto and Long team.

With a modern approach to traditional homebuilding Reid’s Heritage homes continues to improve the quality of community living and offer the best customer relationships on the market.
